NodisBot

NodisBot is the part of Nodis that checks your clients' sites: uptime, SSL, DNS, search visibility, broken links and more. It's not a person browsing the site; it's an automated request, and it identifies itself as one.

What it sends

• The user agent NodisBot/1.0 (+https://usenodis.com/bot)
• Only GET and HEAD requests. It never submits a form, signs in or runs a script.
• An X-Nodis-Key header: a secret unique to your workspace, so your firewall can tell NodisBot from anyone else.

How much it sends

NodisBot keeps to 1 request per second to any one host, across every workspace using Nodis, however many sites use it.

Letting it through

If a site's firewall blocks NodisBot, Nodis shows it as needs attention rather than down. See the firewall setup guide for the one rule that lets it through and survives IP address changes.
